The 2007 PLU Women's Soccer squad came together on Sunday August 19th to start a three year quest to break the national Top 10 rankings. Nearly a dozen returners and 12 newcomers have rounded out this year's squad. The first match-up of the season will prove to be a major challenge to the Lutes as they are scheduled to play UC Santa Cruz which is currently ranked #7 in the country by www.d3kicks.com and #8 by NSCAA. This mighty challenge is motivating to both the players and coaching staff alike and we all anxiously anticipate next week's game.
Pre-season preparations include practices twice a day, weightlifting 3 times a week, daily goalkeeper sessions as well as classroom sessions that deal with systems of play, being a good teammate and support for those freshman athletes transitioning to college.
